Imaging plays an important role in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Our board-certified radiologists and trained staff use tools such as:
- Mammography
- Stereotactic breast biopsy
- MRI
- CT
- Ultrasound
- Nuclear medicine
In addition to imaging, other screening tests are available for the early detection of other cancers. Prostate cancer screenings and breast cancer education are offered in the community on an annual basis and colonoscopies are conducted on an outpatient basis.
Surgical biopsies to detect many types of cancer are also conducted at Spalding Regional. Board-certified pathologists work in the Spalding Regional Lab to analyze tissue samples to help determine cancer diagnosis and treatment.
