New Support for Stroke Survivors
Spalding Regional Medical Center to Launch Stroke Support Group
Griffin, GA – July 7, 2010 If you – someone in your family – or a friend – is recovering from a stroke, a new support group is being formed at Spalding Regional Medical Center. Discovery Circles are topic-focused support group sessions that help stroke survivors and their families understand what has happened to them. The goal of the nine-point support program offered through Discovery Circles is to provide encouragement and guidance, and to help individuals learn adaptive skills that will assist them to live with a changed life.
The support group will meet the third Wednesday of every month from 3-4pm. The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 21st from 6-7 pm at Spalding Regional Medical Center in Classroom 1. All stroke survivors and their family members are encouraged to attend.
