(Griffin, GA) – August 3, 2011. Spalding Regional Medical Center has been named to the Georgia Hospital Association’s Partnership for Health and Accountability (PHA) Quality Honor Roll. Spalding Regional Medical Center is honored for achieving Chairman’s Level Honor Roll status, the highest level on the list. Spalding Regional is one of only 24 hospitals in Georgia placed on the Chairman’s Honor Roll for 2010.
All acute care hospitals are required to submit care data to the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS). The data used details such as how well a hospital’s caregivers adhere to treatments listed in eight Appropriate Care Measures (ACM). ACM are the clinical processes of care that have been proven to be the most effective methods of treatment for patients who have suffered heart attacks, have heart failure or pneumonia. The ACM is the measure that determines whether patients received appropriate care for these diagnoses at the right time. The latest Appropriate Care Measures (ACM) rates for January2010 –December 2010 demonstrates Spalding Regional Medical Center’s achievement of the Chairman’s Level of the Honor Role status of 98-100 percent.
