Nearly 30 percent of people with diabetes and who are 40 years or older have impaired sensation in the feet. Preventative, comprehensive foot care can help reduce the risk of amputation.
Spalding Regional Medical Center offers diabetic foot screenings throughout the year. People with diabetes are encouraged to participate annually in this Carville foot examination to evaluate sensory, circulatory and structural changes in the feet.
Spalding Regional also offers a Diabetes Support Group and Diabetes Education Classes.
For more information on the screenings or to sign up for our next diabetes foot screening, please call (770) 228-2721, ext. 2305.
