Employees Honored for Commitment and Compassion Hospital Celebrates with Annual Service Awards

GRIFFIN, GA – March 17, 2011 - Spalding Regional Medical Center held their Employee Service Award Banquet Thursday, March 3rd, celebrating the many years of service employees have given to Spalding Regional, their patients and their community.  Additionally, several employees were honored for the outstanding work they do in their positions, having been nominated by coworkers, patients and physicians.  The event was held at the Griffin Country Club, with over 150 employees and family members in attendance.

Steve Brown, Director of Information Systems presided, with John Quinn, CEO expressing appreciation to the 93 nurses, technicians and staff being honored for their five, ten, fifteen, twenty, and even forty years of service.  Collectively these dedicated individuals represented one thousand and sixty years of service to their community.  Three staff members celebrated their thirty-fifth year of service, while one celebrated his fortieth year of outstanding service to the patients of Spalding Regional:

  • 35 Year of Service:      
    • Kimberly Chastain of Radiology
    • Martha Lusk, an RN
    • Jerome Richards of Radiology
  • 40 Years of Service:    
    • Marvin White of Surgery

CEO John Quinn then presented outstanding service awards to Amanda Nemyer, an RN and winner for clinical Employee of the Year; Christie Thompson, Chart Auditor, received recognition as support Employee of the Year; and Michelle Fisher, Director of 2 West Medical Surgical Unit and the hospital’s Primary Stroke Center was presented the Leader of the Year award.  The hospital’s “Caring Hearts Award” for Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Donald Jones.

Spoke John Quinn, “This is one of the most important events we hold each year because it is our chance to say thank you to our staff that have given so much to our patients over the years, and to recognize those outstanding individuals that demonstrate the values of caring and compassion and the pursuit of the highest quality care possible that we at Spalding Regional strongly believe in.”

Spalding Regional Medical Center, part of Tenet Healthcare, is a 160-bed acute care hospital located at 601 South Eighth Street in Griffin, Ga.
