Diabetes Education

More than 20 million people in the U.S. have diabetes. Diabetes is the leading risk factor for heart disease, stroke, blindness, kidney failure and amputations. Diabetes can also lead to high blood pressure, pregnancy complications and other health complications.

Managing your diabetes can be complicated. However, you can reduce your complications through diabetes education, preventative care, and monitoring and controlling your glucose, blood pressure and blood lipid levels.

Spalding Regional offers diabetes classes and services to help you successfully manage your diabetes.

Diabetes Education Classes
This six-hour class covers topics including diet, exercise, diabetic medications, stress, handling high and low blood sugar, monitoring blood sugars, diabetic foot care and long-term complications of diabetes. This class is taught by a certified diabetes educator and registration is required.

Spalding Regional also offers a Diabetes Support Group and Diabetes Foot Screenings.

For more information or to sign up for the diabetes class, call (770) 228-2721, ext. 2305.
