Spalding Regional supports families on the amazing journey to parenthood with a variety of educational classes. Classes are offered in new classrooms, conveniently located on the 1st floor of the new Women’s Center. To register or for more information, call (770) 467-6136 or click Find an Event above.

Prepared Childbirth This course helps prepare parents-to-be on what to expect during the childbirth experience. Topics include stages of labor, medication options, the birth process, C-sections, postpartum care, infant care as well as breathing and relaxation techniques. There are two options available to best fit your schedule – a five-week evening course and a weekend class.

Infant CPR and Safety A two-hour class for new parents, grandparents and caregivers covers cardiopulmonary resuscitation and infant safety.

Breastfeeding Class This two-hour class is on the breastfeeding basics. We encourage coaches to come to learn and offer support.

Sibling Class For children 3 to 11 years old who are expecting a new brother or sister, the class includes a visit to the nursery, diaper changing techniques, bottle feeding and instructions on how to hold a baby. We encourage parents to stay with their children and bring their cameras.

Babysitting Class Educates children ages 11 through 15 in basic babysitting skills, including child care, basic first-aid, children’s activities and accident prevention.
