The Women’s Center at Spalding Regional Receives Johnson’s® Childbirth Nursing Award

The Women’s Center at Spalding Regional Medical Center has been presented with a Johnson’s® Childbirth Nursing Award. The award “recognizes the dedication and skill of childbirth nurses and the care and support they provide to mothers and their babies.”

The unit received the certificate after a patient nominated the team for the award. Johnson’s® partnered with the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses to encourage patients to thank their childbirth nursing team.

“We are very honored and excited to receive the award,” says Suzanne Gamel, Director of Women’s Services at Spalding Regional. “The award is especially meaningful because it came from a patient who had delivered their baby in our unit and not anything we had applied for.”

This isn’t the first recognition the staff has received. The Women’s Center has received five-star ratings from patient satisfaction surveys – the highest rating possible for year-end 2006 and year-to-date 2007.

The new Women’s Center at Spalding Regional opened in fall 2006 and offers mothers-to-be and their families a comfortable, hotel-like atmosphere for childbirth.
